The Young Investigator Group on Failure and Uncertainty Tolerant Universal Robot Operation, or FUTURO, aims to raise the degree of autonomy of existing robots to the next level in order to pave the way for future manned missions to the Moon and Mars. The project addresses the limited tolerance to failure and by making the robots aware of execution errors using digital twins and by increasing the action catalogue of the systems leveraging learning-based methods.
